Fish Bank Indonesia, in collaboration with Sinergi Foundation, organized a Food Safety and Quality Assurance (HACCP) Training, as part of the Paradaya Movement 2025 program. The training was attended by 20 participants from various universities across East Java and surrounding regions. Participants included fresh graduates as well as active students majoring in food processing technology. This program is part of the Paradaya Movement 2025, an initiative launched by Forum Zakat and Paragon Corp to support Indonesia’s productive workforce in securing employment by equipping them with the skills needed to enter the job market.
The event took place from 15–17 November, consisting of Training Sessions and Technical Guidance as preparation for the HACCP Document Preparation Competency Assessment, held over two days on 15 and 16 November. Participants then proceeded to undergo the Competency Assessment to earn the Competent certification in HACCP document preparation—an internationally recognized food safety standard. The certification will be issued and accredited by BNSP.
“Having a HACCP Competency Certificate will help students compete in the job market. It gives them added value because many food processing companies require personnel certified as HACCP Competent,” said Yuyu Wahyudin, Project Officer of Paradaya Movement in Banyuwangi.
Meanwhile, Ir. Bambang Arif Nugrafa, Director of CV Athaya Bina Wahana as the Lead Trainer of the program, explained that the HACCP certification reflects the spirit of downstream industrial development promoted by the Government of Indonesia. He emphasized that food-processing MSMEs need competent human resources capable of establishing proper food safety systems to ensure that their processed products meet national and international market standards.
The Training and Technical Guidance sessions were held at Grand Aston Hotel and Convention Center Banyuwangi, while the Competency Assessment took place at PGRI University Banyuwangi. Following the training, participants are expected to secure employment in the food processing industry. They will also receive mentorship from the Fish Bank Indonesia team to help them start their careers in the sector successfully.
