About Us

Fish Bank Indonesia is the first philanthropic organization in Indonesia dedicated specifically to the maritime sector and the empowerment of coastal communities. The organization was initiated through a collaboration between Sinergi Foundation and YBM PLN, as part of the nation’s vision to become a Global Maritime Fulcrum.

We work to assist fishermen groups in building strong organizational governance as the spearhead of empowerment programs. We also engage in the conservation of coral reefs and other damaged coastal ecosystems.

Another important aspect of our work is the development of the local economy in the assisted areas through the promotion of educational tourism (eduwisata), aiming to reduce the coastal communities’ dependence on natural resources.
